Default Changing Coolant in 5th gen

I have done it in my 94 civic before, and removed the big 19mm drain bolt on the back of the block, but it was a PITA to remove.

So my question is, does it really need to be removed to drain the coolant, or if I do a flush with a garden hose should I be able to clean it out just as well without removing the drain bolt on the back?

yea when I did mine I didnt drain the block either. As long as you flush it out you are good. try to get out as much of the garden hose water as you can. That water HATES aluminum.

dunno about the lude, but my teg stock radiator has a drain plug on the bottom somewhere. pull all that plastic shrouding from the bottom of the car and poke around under there, see if you can find what i'm talking about.
