i've looked into some auto to manual swaps (as i have a manual trans car with a bad engine and have a good engine with an automatic trans) and its not that hard looking but it would save you some time and money to buy a manual shell if you wanted a manual trans car. And like the other member said, just make sure it has as little rust as possible and the only problem is the engine. as far as the h22, my friend got a whole front clip on ebaymotors for 1200 but he got a really REALLY good deal. but i liked the front clip cause in doing the swap we broke a few things that if not for the front clip we would have had to buy the stuff from honda or somewhere else and it would have taken more time. and i would recomend getting one with the lsd stock instead of getting one later and droping another $1000. On ebay the front clips generally start at 2200 and can get up to 3000.

a good shell will run you max 2000 being best condition or 300 being the condition of the one i got (no rust or unibody dammage, but some nasty do it yourself painting and hood bondo with a bad front bumper soon to be fixed with no bondo) as far as the year, i think that the 94-96 models come prewired for vtec even on the s and si but don't quote me on that, and the 96 is an obd2 car so keep that in mind.

good luck with your build.

buy a 94-95 with a blown motor. get a si vtec if possible since there would be no need for extra wiring. im not 100% sure if the "s" came prewired for vtec but in earlier years the "s" would need 4 new wires run and the "si" would need 2 wires ran. i said go with 94-95 since they have the electro-luminescent gauges. short center console /w cup holder! r-134 a/c which wont be as big of a headache if it has issues. u can go with 92-93 but you have long center console, and regular gauges. as far as the 96 it has obd2 so you would have to convert down to obd1 which would be more of a headache. spend 2500-3000 on the motor/parts then spend 1000 or less on a shell and your at 4000 for a nice jdm h22 lude. but if i was really focused on going for boost id look into the g23. just my .02 cents

looks like this car has a WW side and rear lip. A little love along with the right front lip could make this car workable. But yea, a previously modded car is always a risk, but so is a used car

I see you're in SF. Check out the part-out threads on BayAreaPrelude.com. There's a couple nice motors for sale.

I'm usually against buying a total bucket and flippin it to the "project" you desire will run you A LOT of money at the end ONLY if you are finish with it. Most people wont even be done with it until they have to sell it and lose out it.
2800 for si 170,xxx miles .. and some damage?

DAMN.... paint body work gonna run u like 1500 - new motor soon another 2k, list goes on and on man. I say just buy a decent one and change the wheels to your liking or change things that you actually want to "modify" and not NEEDED to keep it running

why not buy my lude... 93 vtec 136,xxx original mile. clean title, new miliano red paint lowered on agx gc coils, one peice lights, and some extras misc stuff.. I'm looking to sell for like 4500
