Default bad Ecu

i just picked up a 1995 integra LS, after the engine heats up and im driving the CEL comes on, i pulled the code and its a solid ecu, i know thats the code for a bad ECU but it runs fine is there anything else it could be, also so i dont have to make a new post my speedo doesnt work is there any way to check the VSS or do you just have to replace it and hope for the best. I did search i just cant find what im looking for

thanks,

Cory

bump, today i unhooked the battery and when i reconnected it the alarm went off, i turned the alarm off with the key then about a half hour later, the car was parked in gear with the ebrak and it tried to start itself and slammed into another parked car, it doesnt have remote start but it does have a viper alarm system im real bummed, could it have anything to do with the ecu? since its pulling a bad ecu code

dude, your car is tryin to kill it self, nah just kidding, maybe it is the ecu or maybe it is the alarm, who wired it? Maybe they wired it wrong or something becuase im thinkin, if it was a ECU, wouldnt it need you to hold the clutch b4 you start?

wtf? that is insane. I would uninstall that alarm. it sounds like they did it wrong, are you missing the clutch switch or what?

The clutch switch is easy to bypass as is the N Switch. Completely remove the add ons and retry.

Change the VSS and hope for the best, they do go bad often, if it needs a speedo head then sell the VSS on E Bay, just say it has less than one mile on it and you crashed your car during a test drive at night while driving with no lights and you were testing your new NVG's but you forgot to put the batteries in or some silly **** like that so they will laugh and just buy your new VSS while feeling sorry for you. It is a great sales tactic.

yea i have no idea who installed the alarm i just got the car two days ago, and i wouldnt know where to start to uninstall it but if someone could help me out that would be great cuz i hate aftermarket keyless entry its just a PITA how it locks it self after the doors are shut after like ten seconds, im gonna lock me keys in there sooner or later ide rather just not have it, and now i gotta pay for the ladies car i hit she was real pissed all it did was put silver paint on her steal bumper and shes telling me i owe her 300 bucks. my front bumper looks a hell of a lot worse than hers haha
