Default 13:1 on pump gas?

Is it doable for a dd? A guy is selling some locally. 85mm 13:1 c/r Wiseco pistons w/ rings. If the car is tuned, can these be run on pump gas?

Im not thinking they are but I need some input from some of you all motor freaks.

Yes, if you take out a grip of timing. You can make more power on pump gas with less compression, and the car will run better.

I think it would be ok for your comp to be somewhere in the range of 12.5. My builder ported my combustion chamber ala endyne wherein hot gases are pushed more to a side. Not so sure whether its the intake or exhaust side. But the car feels and runs so much better with the fatter mid-range. Check out endyne's website and they have a civic running 13:1 I think. But what cams will you be using? If the ABDC is somewhere in the 46-47 area then stick with cr at 11.1. Anywhere between 49-55 will look for more static cr. Dynamic CR should be the key.

It can be done if you are very very carefull. Make sure you have a perfectlly blueprinted motor, a perfect tune, a good knock detection system, very good working order cooling system, and keep a really good eye on everything. I personally wouldent run that high on the street becasue the motor won't last as longwith the high combustion chamber temps you will have but I don't know your situation.

my 2 cents.

like camlob said it depends mainly on your cam selection and grade of fuel. For a static CR of 13:1 you will need a s2pro1-2, crower3, or equivelant. A good tune will aslo be key.
