Burnt a valve, possibly had the valve lash set too tight

EDIT: Are there any threads in your spark plug hole?

it could be worse dude...you already pulled head...get the valve replaced...good as new..as long as the dome of the piston on cyl 2 didnt suffer damage youre fine

probably happened because either i floated a valve or yes like the guy said above, burnt a valve. i dont have the much xp in tearin these down so i havent seen this before. but wutever, im replacing valves, springs, retainers, head gasket, rings, pistons, rod bearings, should be good for the win!

np, my new setup is going to pwn, im building the head since im going to actually use that for my turbo build, my bottom end im just going to get running 100% with new bearings and piston rings. so.. my new setup =

GSR head (of course)
SuperTech Stainless Valves coated
SUpertech Dual Valve Springs
Supertech Titanium Retainers
valve job done by portflow.. i believe its a port and police

im going ot get it tuned with just that, then i will use this head for my turbo motor build.. turbo motor will be that head with

b18A block with Eagle Crank, Eagle Rods, and CP pistons 9.1 comp probably, Eagle Sleeves, Billet head gasket

u think that will be able to handle about 16 boost? probably more but i want to run reliably with that setup, lemme know wut u guys think/suggestions.

all that for just 16 pounds of boost?? man jump that **** up if your doin al that. or 9.2 cr is to high, drop it to like 8.3-8.7 cr. boost is better with lower cr. the higher your cr the less boost you need to make high numbers. visit HMT and see what we got cookin.

You have iridium plugs? Had a retard with an SRT4 blow his motor because the tip broke off of his NGK plug, and he wanted a refund on it. I told him no.

Boost is not better with retarded low compression. There is absolutely no point in dropping your compression below 9.1.
