Question on suspension
I was under the assumption that the spring absorbs all the dead weight of a vehicle and the shock only dampens the oscillations. Well, I just noticed this pass week that the rear drivers side of my car is about 2" lower than my passenger. I just jacked it up and confirmed my suspision when I couldn't get the jack under! Well my car is out of comission and I'm trying to figure out if something other than a blown shock could be causing this. Thanks!!!!
Would I only be able to see a broken spring perch with the shock/spring assembly removed or could I see it with it installed? I glanced at everything and everything looked right. No chance of it being the shock?
You would pretty much be able to see a broken spring perch if you removed the rim/tire of the corner which you suspect. I really don't think that busted shocks would sag 2" but I'm not positive. Sounds like a spring problem, you have the stock springs????

Ok well I probably exaggerated. Its more like barely 1 finger on one side and 2.5 fingers on the other.
