Default Silly question - What ill are the effects of using a 2.75" short ram?

Stupid me, I didn't notice that the short ram on my motor has a diameter of 2.75 inches.

Could this possibly explain why my car produced such low dyno numbers for being a jdm itr? It hit 155hp/115tq on a dynojet. The car was revv'ed up to ~8k, the graph also didn't indicate power loss leading up that point either.

The dyno session was before I had to chance to replace all the maintenance items, too.

When you say maintenance items do you mean plugs, wires, cap, fuel filter, air filter? If so, then I could see this causing an issue or at least contributing to a larger cause.

Just about every single one of those actually

I don't know if my butt dyno would be able to interpret a 10hp increase (to bring it back into the realm of the average 165hp), but realistically I don't think the maintenance items made the car feel that much different. Maybe peppier.

LOL. Then yeah, I could see it causing all sorts of problems.

Yes, your butt dyno should be calibrated enough to interpret 10 WHP...

Think of it like this, an air intake on average gives you around that or less. Would you feel a difference in that?

As for the plugs, do you know how many miles are on them? Did you change the plugs last? Simple maintenance stuff like that will make a huge difference in how the car feels and reacts.

Alll the maintenance items were changed after the dyno session. My hookup at Acura temporarily lost my parts, which is why I was not able to dyno with a maintained motor.

But, all the maintenance items have about 15k on them right now.

And hrmm, maybe I give my butt dyno less credit than it deserves. I do remember the last time I added a CAI to my old EF hatch, it did get some decent midrange
