Default speakers

i recently bought a 95 del sol and it has a pioneer premiere head unit and 4 kicker 6-1/2 inch speakers. im assuming the kid did the wiring himself when he did it. so i can be driving down the road and hit a bump and all four speakers shut off, and the head unit stays on. then i will hit another bump and all four come back on. and if im sitting still everything works fine, but if i turn the volume over 35 all four speakers shut off. one of my friends suggested a small amp to fix the volume issue, but the head unit stays on no matter how high the volume is. help thanks.

i don't think a amp will solve the problem. sounds like there are a few wires loose. first remove the speakers and see how the connections are. second, if those are fine i would look behind the stereo, or look to see if he had to extend the wires. but chance are it's just a loose connection. easy fix.

oh, by the way. wrong forum. it goes in the audio forum.

i had the same problem when i wired mine up, forgot so put electical tape on one connection and the + and - wires would sometimes come in contact, luckily my head unit had some type of diode so it didnt blow it up...check your connections and make sure none are hitting the chassis or touching each other!

I would start with the Head unit. its the easiest to get to and since every one of the speakers is affected it is most likely the culprit.

bad wiring.
