Default Alpine DVD problem! Please help.

I just got my Alpine touch screen installed in my type S and the cd/dvd wont accept any of the discs i try to put in. they go in about a third of the way and get stuck. I took this out of my SI wehn it wrecked in the rain. The collision was only 20 mph but the insurance company for some reason wanted to total it and pay me out for the car. I've been told somethin internal is off track which is why the cd/dvds cant be inserted all the way. Everything else works fine. Anyone know of a place i can take the head unit to get it fixed? I bought it off my cousin so i dont have a warranty on it. Also. How do i do a bypass on it? Thanks for your help guys.

You've been told correct.

The same way you did it in the first car, which is probably why you wrecked in the first place...

No, you call Alpine to inquire as to who their authorized repair facilities are... Or you could search on Google..

I'm sure it can be fixed. Just find an althorized Alpine Service Center. Their tech-support line is 1-800-NAV-HELP.

Don't be surprised if that repair quote is upwards of a couple hundred bucks...

I just did a quick search on Partstore.com to see how much a loading mechanism is, and for a Kenwood (only brand I could remember a model number for) the part is $185... So count on an Alpine part being more... And labor will be a minimum of $100...
