IDLE IS WIERD
alright well i drive a civic 97 hatch with a obd1 d15b jspec motor. i just replaced it with a new dizzy, sparkplugs/wires, and a fuel filter but my idle is still having problems. when i rev or drive my car, the idle drops to like 200rpm. my friends says it could be my pcv valve because my idle isnt supposd to drop that low. i have a CEL of oxygen content and intake air temperature if that matters but that always been there and it just started having this problem recently. i also i have a bad rear motor mount if that matters. anybody know?
well i have a cel for oxygen content, is that my o2 sensor? if i buy a new o2 sensor will that cel go away? and my friend says the reason i have no vtec is because i have that cel is that tru also?

correct. vtec will not engage if you have a CEL. i'm unfamiliar with the "oxygen content" code. as for the IAT, do you have your sensors plugged in right? the IAT plug will fit another sensor. i think it's the IACV. if you have the wrong plug on your IAT sensor, you will need to replace the IAT sensor, as putting the wrong plug on it will kill it.
i'm not sure a honda can idle at 200rpm without dying.
check your sensor plugs to be sure they are set right. as for the "oxygen content" thing.. let us know how you fix it. i've never heard of that one.
good luck

i just braught it to a shop and they told me my IAT sensor is fried AGAIN and they say it could be because of my o2 sensor. they said my o2 sensor works but its not hooked up correctly.

judging by your problems and fried IAT sensor, i STILL say you have your harness hooked up wrong.
the IAT and another sensor share the SAME type/look plug. i THINK it's the IACV, but not sure. i forget.
BE SURE YOU HAVE THE RIGHT HARNESS PLUG ON THE IAT!!!

I think you got your iacv and iat mixed, iat shoudltn cause a bad idle like that.

I drove like that because i didnt have the ecu pinouts at the moment, and i didnt have time. wasnt so bad either.

um where is the iacv sensor? is it near the iat sensor? i recently baught a new iat sensor from honda couple months back because it was completely fried. the worker at the honda place said i should check my pcv valve cuhz it tends to do that but the mechanic where i brought it to today said the pcv valve doesnt do anythin to the iat sensor. he told me iat sensor is supposd to be at like 2-3 ohms but it was readin 500 ohms. he said somethin like that..

There is nothing wrong with driving without an o2 sensor. When you're accelerating or driving when the engine is still cold, it's in open-loop, which is same as using no o2 sensor inputs at all. The only time the engine gets feedback from the o2 sensor is when it is properly warmed up and in either cruising, accelerating, or idle.</TD></TR></TABLE>
as long as you don't mind decent gas mileage. i dunno about you, but i mostly drive around in closed loop. just my opinion. i don't accelerate at wide-open throttle as much.

as i said above. that will burn our you IAT. the IACV is the one on the back of your intake mani. PM me for pics/info.

well the thing is , after i told the person that did my swap for me bout it he wired the IAT sensor directly to my ECU but it was still throwin a code. what could this mean?

that's fine, but you may still have your plugs switched.
