Default CVT question

I have a '99 civic hx with a cvt trans in it. the cvt is junk and i want to replace it. is it possible to use a auto trans out of a ex or do i have to get another cvt if i want to stay auto?

you can change it, you will hae to change wiring harness too. and weld a mount on the frame rail because the cvt one is different than the other auto an manuals. Just do a five speed conversion.

CVT in a 99 HX...whaaa..?..I've never heard about Honda putting in CVTs in their cars..especially for a 1999 model...?

Honda started using the CVT in th 1996 HX actually.

haha
over here in the UK the cvt boxes were put in the HR-V which is a 4 wheel drive piece of rubish and i was constantly changing them at work when they first came out cos they couldnt figure out what was going wrong with them when they started going wrong. and now were puting in upgraded parts in them.
but the civic and jazz(fit) takes them as well. much better in the fit tho
also the honda logo had them too.

I just read over the 96-00 civic service manual on dissembly of the cvt. I definitely wanna take one of these aparts. So be sure to hit me up

did i mention that this is the 2nd trans on a 1999 car. that was female driven until i bought it

cvt is huge and heavy, swaped a b16 5 speed in the car raised up 3/4 inch
