Default b18 or b16?

Hey I'm not sure if there is a post for this already but for an Ls motor would you rather have a Gsr head or a b16 head? Which is better?

So you're saying b16 is better? Well I still want low compression but I heard gsr head is better? I'm so confused on them! I'm leaning toward b16 tho...Unless someone can convince me to go b18???

so that means gsr head would be better for n/a? if you're planning to go ls/vtec and then just leave the damned thing alone...

Gsr head will give you a better compression it also depends for what application. If your going turbo your better of with a b16 head.

so right off the bat, the gsr head will give you more power?

good lord there is a lot of misinformation here

A GSR head flows more midrange, has a smaller combustion chamber, and will raise your compression.

A b16 head flows better up top, has a larger combustion chamber and will lower your compression.

the biggest factor though for you between these heads will be what cams your running, if its streetable and the lift on the cams. A very high lift cam with a p72 head will actually flow the same or better than a pr3 head, but if you use a more mild cam set-up then the pr3 head will flow better than the P72 up top.

My advice would be whatever head you go with, get it ported to reduce spool time and increase efficiency

there's gotta be a thread somewhere with dyno graphs of completely straight LS/VTEC builds, comparing the pr3 and p72 heads. i've been thinking of slapping a vtec head on my ls motor, but i'm not going to build it up or turbo it, or anything of the sort, i'm just gonna leave it stock. you're saying they'll give similar power, just a different power curve? and the p72 will give you more top-end but the pr3 will give you more midrange...?

I plan on running a stock gsr head...maybe building it some...but I should get new pistons and rods on a turbo ls? What's my best bet here for building ls-vt? Just parts wise...
