Default replacing door on G3?

How hard is it to replace my driver's side door?

some d1ck keyed up my door and it looks like it's cheaper to just replace the door (of the same color) than to get it repainted.

is it hard? thanks

No, not hard. Disconnect the harness that goes to the door (1 big plug) and then take off the bolts on the hinges (2 hinges, 2 bolts per hinge).

Like HatchR said its not hard at all, having someone there with you will make life alot easier as well. Disconnect the harness and as you can see in the pic, the 4 yellow lines are bolts that you have to remove (don't remember the size), and the neon green is where a little pin like thing sits, you can just pull that out. The hardest part is getting it properly alligned, in my opinion.

Oops, forgot about that little pin that you have to remove. You can just knock that out with a couple taps from a hammer, and same for putting it back in.

Agreed... you need a second person so that one person holds the door up and the other person bolts the bolts in tight. Then close it, see how the gaps are and how it closes, and adjust until it's perfect.

dude dont buy a new door, are you listening to yourself, some a$$hole keyed your car and you going to get a whole new door??? just get it touched up. a bodyshop might charge 100-150 to blend it in. not too hard at all. plus lining up ur door correctly is a pain in the ***. also if u get another milano red door it might not match up right. think about it, if that milano red door was in the sun 3x as much as urs was, its gonna be faded some, it wont match and thats the most ghetto way of fixing a key mark. be sensible here, yeah it sucks that someone did it but fixing it should be logical. if they dented your door or something that would be a pain to fix... thats another story. go to several body shops, see what they charge and get it done right. Someone keyed my car about 2 years ago, yeah sure it looks like hell but im waiting to save up some $$$ to get the whole thing dentless and looking like new again in the spring. either wait to someone else hits u or get it touched up, but dont replace the door.

Hmm..this thread is pretty old but i revived it because in my case i bought the car with a lot of dents on the pass. door. I'm planning on buying a new door and replacing it. So you think it's not worth it or it's just really hard to do? I try to make things as perfect as possible even if it requires a lot of time, so ya..please reason yourself out more.thx.

well in ur case, those dents are a PITA, but liek i said before, go to several body shops, get a few estimates, adn then compare to the price of a new door. Which ever one is cheaper go with that. the door isnt taht big on a pain, but to swap doors for a key mark is ridiculous... hope that helps, ohh and if u get a new door, u might have to figure in getting it painted to match...

and trying to find a milano red door in pristine condition is just the start of the PITA. honda parts get scooped up faster than...well you all know what i mean. i waited forever just trying to find a stock milano red fender...check car-parts.com , they might have one listed.

Yeah i've already found the same color door and pretty good condition(better than my current one) so i was thinking of picking it up for about 50 bucks. If i were to swap doors i would replace the shell. And my current door is REALLY messed up like there's A LOT of dents and it is badly aligned. Thanks for your response i think i'll try to do it, 50 bucks wont hurt
