would a faulty ignitor throw a CEL???
well i am having the problem of my car starting but it will only idle for a few minutes then it will die but if i try and start it right away, it wont start with no spark and i have to let it sit for 10 minutes before it starts and only idles for a few minutes. also when it stalls for the first time, i will be driving and then i will lose all power, i push the gas and nothing and the rpms will drop slowly till it hits about 1000 and i push the clutch in and it will stall and the routine starts.
ive been searching on here and i seen alot of things about a faulty ignitor which comes close to the symptoms i am having, will a faulty ignitor throw a CEL???? because i am not getting any CELs

....
if you car started , idled then died, and now restart wont work. its most likely your main relay. try starting the car at night. or throw the main relay in the freezer for 10 minutes.
hot days, leaving your car in the sun for long periods kills the main relay.. if you have a friend that has a 96+ civic or 94+ integra they all use the same main relay you can try theirs.

update on my problem
today the car ran fine for alittle while and then as i was driving it, it died and i took apart the dist and cleaned the ignitor with electra clean or whatever its called. i put it back in and it fired right up, it lasted for an hour and a half in my hour and 45 minute drive home then it died and wouldnt start after that. when i got home i took it apart and cleaned it with some sand paper and put it back in and it fired right up. idk how long its going to last but yeah

were not even sure the ignitor is the problem... you had no codes.... remove your main relay put in the fridge till its cold then start your car up tonight and see what happens... if the car stays on without any problems then you know forsure its your main relay getting too hot or having a bad weld. like i said above you use a friends relay aswell to test.
JDMlyfestyle said you will have codes. if your ignitor or coil is the problem... since your not, move onto the next possible problem your main relay..........

the ignitor or coil will throw a code apon complete Failure most of the time.. take out your coil and take your ICM and just test them and see if they are still good.
well ever since i cleaned the ignitor with the sandpaper, it hasnt stalled and ive drove over 6 hours and i made about 10 passes at the track so it seems fine now. i think it was just the ignitor because when i first took it off, it was full corroded.
like your saying, it might throw a code, it might not.
