Default Ever PROBLEMS with HMOTOTSONLINE???

I just got a Sir II 92-95 long block from them and it looks great from the outside. I did a compression test and it was 70 across the board. I took out the plugs and they looked nasty as hell. Then I took off the exhaust manifold and it had major I mean major carbon build-up. I also noticed that when I opened the throttle body and wipped the inside of the manifold I came out with a oil soaked finger. Here are some pics.

How did you do the compression test?

With the engine out of the car?

Thats what i want to know. You have to rotate the motor atleast 3 good cranks (all cylinders around) with compression to do it. Thats pretty damn hard to do by hand.

But like mentioned talk to Steve, hell fix everything.

i hope you realize that the engine has to be HOT in order to do a compression test.

when the motor is cold, the compression is going to be low, cause the rings have not expanded yet.

It doesnt HAVE to be hot, the numbers do go up a little but cold is fine.
