88' civic having distributer problems
I just recently replaced the distributer because the old ones rotors nut was stripped and my step dad tried drilling it out and the bolt was too big. Basically when i turn it it makes a noise like the pistons arnt moving its just 1 steady sound. i have it on my camera phone but i dont know how to upload it on this. IT has something to do with the distributer because it worked before that. Thanks alot

everything seems to be in check. is there anyway to upload videos on the forum cause i have a video that was taken on my phone that might narrow down the possibilities.
i failed to mention i bought a brand new distributer, distributer cap and rotor.
the battery gives plenty of juice to turn over the car but it wont start. Basically what happens is i turn the key and it makes a single hum noise and keeps humming as long as i have the key turned. you know how when you start a car the pistons start moving and gives it a distinct noise. its just a flat one note' noise

When you try to start the car, does the crankshaft turn? I think you might have bumped the wire that goes to the starter solenoid, it's right below the distributor. It is a blade wire that plugs into a wire to the starter solenoid. If it's loose, then nothing's happening, which is why it's so quiet.
