I have a 1994 Civic EX coupe (EJ1). It's a project car, so it doesn't get started daily. Usually about every week or two. I have a Clifford alarm on it with a backup siren. Every so often my battery will get COMPLETELY drained from my alarm and cause my backup siren to go off.

Is this normal for an alarm to put that much drain on a battery?

 

friend has a clifford with a backup battery & siren and has had that problem also.. had to put it on valet so that the alarm wouldnt die.

Damn ! having to valet?? .... might as well have nothing !

 

i mean to say so the battery wouldnt die..
and yes. its useless but im sure its a fairly old alarm.. going to upgraded to a 2way anyways.

 

Well, my alarm isn't old. I just got it put on less than 3 months ago. Is there anything else I can do?

Ask the shop that put it in for you perhaps?
