My brake light comes on when I accelerate. I've checked my rear brakes and they are fine. Any thoughts?

 

check the fluid level

the light comes on for 2 reasons...

1) the parking brake is engaged

2) the fluid level is low

Or it mean slow your going to fast.


No, seriouly. It could be your master cylinder cap is bad.

it was the brake fluid and not the MC....thanks for the advice.

 

i also have a problem with my brake lights.. they dont come on at all

Probably the brake sensor or the taillight fuse. Or obviously a short in the circuit.

 

where is the brake sensor

 

I had the same thing happen in my EK, I went nuts trying to figure it out. Checked the parking brake sensor, checked the cable tension, turned out to be the front pads were about shot.

Pop off one of your inside front pads and check em out, sounds stupid but as soon as I put on some new pads the light never came on again.
