blew my motor.. time to rebuild but what crank??
So I grenaded the **** outta my ls/vtec and it's time for another. I'm at a crossroad now and don't know which crank to go with.
Basically I have a b18a long block to work with so i have the full rotating assembly.
I also have a spare gsr crank and mains w/the mbsp
I have a set of cp 11.5:1s to throw in
And ill buy eagle h beams for which ever crank i go with.
The head will be stock (no port/polish) obd0 b16 skunk2 valves/springs/retainers/stage 2 cams/cam gears (still need to buy the spings/valves)
So right now I need to buy main studs, rods and bearings for the bottom end but I need to decide what crank I want. What do you guys think? I have lots of other stuff for this motor as well
Aebs intake mani/68mm tb
arp head studs
aem fuel rail/fpr/marshall gauge
jdm itr 4-1 for now.. im borrowing it until i can afford something nice
I want to break 200whp but I'm not gonan ahve money to get the head worked ):
I'm leaning towards and ls crank right now but I really like the idea of a mbsp but I won't have the $ to get a golden eagle one for my ls setup.

it's still gonan be an ls block.. which requires the ls/vtec line.

yes ut the rod to stroke ratio given by the ls crank is what makes it "ls/vtec" otherwise its just a poor mans type r i believe.
ya you have a point.. i tink im gonna stick with the ls crank anyways.. itll give me more displacement and compression

haha ya i was kinda thinking that but I have seen some really sweet deals on gsr rods so sweet that id still be saving if i buy these rods and pay for the block align bore.
gsr main bearings are the same as ls right? the rods bearings are the different ones...

OK now I know most people don't like the 89mm cranks, but what's is bad about them? The R/S ratio? That's easily fixed.
Dart B20 Block 226MM deck height
151mm Length rods
LS Crank
Type-R head
An Effective 2L Motor w/ a R/S of 1.70 Not too shabby
