the slave cyl is fine.. ive bled this thing so many times now its getting pointless.. still wont go into gear while car is running.. please help..
is there an actual way to bleed the master cylender itself???

ok so if it will go in and out of gear while the car is off, and wont do so when the car is ON, then you have another probelm on your hands i think. I remember someone posting about this too a while back i cant recall what the solution was.
i was just told to pump the pedal a few times and hold it to the floor.. then crack the hard line to the master cyl and bleed it like you would the slave.. i will try it and see what happens... everything else is literally 2 weeks old i dont see how it could be a different issue..
i can put it into gear with the car off..start it and get it to move no problem..its a bitch getting it into other gears but it does go without grinding.. just hard as hell to push into each gear..
if it was the clutch or trans i dont think movement would be possible without a ton of grinding.. i screwed my input shaft in my old gsr trans.. stripped it.. i know what that sounds like theres no noice with this issue im having now..
any more ideas would be highly appreciated.. im about to drop the trans and see if anything else has gone wrong.. i know it will be just a waste of time tho..
wish me luck

if youre hydraulic lines from the clutch master cylinder to slave cylinder has been bled out , with the emilination of the clutch master cylinder to slave cylinder .....must be the clutch!

When you put the new master cylinder in did you happen to match the shaft lenghts? If not your going to need to do that. But since its already in youll need to do it on the fly and guess where your at. Just rotate the shaft in and out until your happy getting it into gear.

check the movement of the clutch fork as well. make sure it moves out and moves back in when the pedal is released.
its also possible that the transmission fluid is bad. bad fluid or incorrect fluid can make it difficult to shift. Right now i'm using Amsoil MTF 5w30 synchromesh fluid, shifts like butter, better than the redline MTL i had in before.

need to bench bleed the master cylinder. bleeding the slave will not bleed the master cylinder.
exit lines from master cylinder- put a hose on it and loop back to the reservoir and pump a couple times. this circulates the fluid through the cylinder and back to the reservoir. like a closed loop process.
process needs to be done if mc is new or air drawn into it from having to much fluid drain out

there is a bleeder near the slave cylinder on the tranny. when i did my auto to manual swap, all i did was add fluid into the m/c, open the bleeder and started pumping, until all the air was out of the system. i thought this is how you bleed the system whether it's the slave or master cylinders.

if its new u need to bench bleed...always...then gravity bleed it on the car with some one in the car have them press the petal down then tighted the bleeder let the pettal upopen the bleeder press down close the bleeder let up open the bleeder...n so on
I had a problem like this with my audi s4... it turned out that the flywheel was not properly resurfaced (some idiot told me to resurfcae a 2 stage flywheel.... and i listenened)
Dont rule that out.

ok.. i called around and was told to pump the pedal a bunch then crack the hardline to the master cylender and bleed it like you would the slave while pressing in the clutch pedal..
i have tons of pressure now but it still will not go into gear..while running.. goes in and out smoothly when car is off.. just not on...WTF?
**also adjusted the mast ctl shaft going to the pedal.. adjusted all the way out so theres lots of throw.. feels good to me.. but still no go?
HELP PLEASE
thanks

might have too much throw?

The easiest way is grab a six pack and gravity bleed take your time its not a race. I have seen more then a few master cylinders seals destroyed by over zealous pumping and short tempers.
BTW The pump and hold trick is good for brakes, but does not work well for clutches
