Auto Tranny question
I am having some issues with my teg. I put a turbo on it about 3 months ago. I went to the dyno and I put out 150HP to the wheels. I went to the mechanic to see what was wrong and he said that on the newer imports they have a "limiter" on the torque converter that starts dissipating the extra hp so that you don't break the tranny. I want to see what you guys think about it. Also on the dyno run I hit 150hp at 5100 RPM, I was still at 150hp when I hit 7200. Any ideas? Your help is greatly appreciated.

That sounds like a rough situation. I have never heard of this "limiter" on the torque converter, but it may be so. What year is your Integra and is it a GSR or LS? Maybe this is something to be happy about though...now you can swap transmissions for a manual. My suggestion...get a Integra Type R transmission.
It is the LS motor. Yeah, the plan was eventually go manual, just didn't want to have to do it this quickly. The benefit is the car is still quick in the 1/8 mile, just not the qtr. I was looking into getting either the GSR tranny or the Type R. I figure I will need the strength to hope the hp I want.
Here is what is on the car:
T3/T4, HKS SSBOV, SPEARCO FMIC, Aritex inline FP, Vortect FPR(12:1), magnecore wires, MSD-6BTM, AEM Fuel Rails, AFC, Boost EGT FP gauges, Deltagate 35 millimeter wastegate, APEX N1 Catback, Drag Manifold and intercooler piping, Missing Link, Plugs and I think that is about it.
There is definately a huge difference from before and after the install.
I went to the dyno and pulled 150HP at 5100 RPMS or so. It peaked at 5100. When the cars RPMs were at 7200, I was still at 150HP. I went to the track last night. At the 1/8 mile I was running 88mph, at the end of the qtr mile I was running 88.5 mph.
The package I bought claims I should be around 250 at the wheel and I am trying to figure out what is going on. I talked with a guy at Overboost who said he did the same thing to several auto's and they were all 220hp or better.

I don't know what that person is telling you - I KNOW my car had mad power after I did the install.
I have never heard of anything like that before on an auto tranny.
Either way I would get the swap. Auto tranny i good for driving, but terrible for holding boost. I'm on my third Integra LS tranny already.
GHEY.

I am also having issues with my auto and its either 1 of 2 things basically since I've been getting CEL code 70 since BEFORE I put in the turbo (cel code 70 = automatic transaxle malfunction). Now the D4 blinks and the code doesn't go away like it used to...
I went to the dealer and they said either your main driveshaft speed sensor, or something inside the transmission is broken (tranny is shot in otherwords in the second case scenario). So instead of paying them $80 and hour to find out which it was, I had them order the speen senor and will have that installed probably tomorrow, so basically if it doesn't fix the problem I will have to swap to manual asap
