Default deleting the knock sensor from my p13??

I just wanted to know is it possible to delete my knock sensor program from my JDM p13? I believe it has been already chipped, but still has the knock program, and I really don't want to mess with it. I think I have a bad knock sensor to begin with b/c I keep having a code 23 problem.

TIA!

buy a new knock sensor and that'll solve your check engine light problem...

I remember a guy here that made a write-up on how to wire up something to simulate a knock sensor so you would stop having that code... I'm pretty sure if you search for it.. you can find it.. I'll try to find it myself for ya..

i dont have the cash for a new knock sensor...

I know a guy who can chip ecu's for cheaper than a new KS...

I was just asking if the knock program can be deleted...

yes, they can be deleted. using crome. they have limited support for it.

there is also a way in the p14 ecus to move a 1 or 2 resistors into different spots which disables the knock. much easier and no reprogramming needed. not sure if this works with p13s.

i seen the post somewhere buried on pgmfi.org website. i recommend going through archived stuff there.

personally, i think your smarter going around the knock sensor. i think the dreaded prelude hesistation is caused by an overactive knock sensor and replacing it will possibly give you this hesitation.

does your friend use Crome or uberdata?

because I believe y0kin8r is correct on what he said.

I too have this problem, I purchased a chipped p28 but there
is no good tuners around here so I found a knock sensor for
a fairly good price and I'm gonna try that first

he uses crome I believe. I have a chipped p28,but I want to keep my secondary butterflies operating until I buy an aftermarket IM, but the market for that is very slim right now...

plus, it idles like crap when I plug up my p28, and idles fine with the p13...

but this god damn knock sensor problem sucks ***!!!!

Crome does not fully support the p13 yeat so knock sensor delete does not work yet.
the p28 can work ok if it is chipped with a decent base map...and even better when tuned for your engine.

but again, it does not support the secondary butterflies. i want to keep those operational. I want a euro R manifold, or just top have an h22 manifold ported out, since the aftermarket world does not like the h22...

im asking, is the p72 my only option?

if you want built in IAB control yes the p72 is the ONLY option. if you pay for itthe p28 can control IAB.....OR you can get rif of electronic control and let vacuum handle it. seems to work ok for me for hte past 3 years.

you can have iab control with the p28 with little modification.

there is a writeup on PGMFI

thanks for the tip, but I was never eletrically inclined...

hell, I dont even know how to solder.

hell...if anyone wants to do this for me, LMK...

but if not, then I will just get a p72. I already think I have a buyer for my p28 ecu.

you have to remembmer that the p72 opens the butterflies at the spot setup for an integra, not a prelude. the secondaries are kicking in at the wrong time which may not even be beneficial to you.

I believe there is a way to keep the secondary butterflies with the p28 if
I'm not mistaken. I think Firedrake had a thread on it.

Edit: 98 vtec has u covered

but what if I got an h22 basemap chip for it. you can change when the butterflies open...

as long as the ecu has iab control, you can set them to open at whatever rpm you want.
