can a transmission lockup overnight? tranny has been fine and was fine when i drove home. however the girfriend takes the car this morning and she calls me and tells me that the car isn't shifting right. I told her she must not have been doing something right and she drove the car to my job. Well when I am driving it I pull out of the parking lot fine in 1st and 2nd gear, but about a mile down the road, the car won't go into 1st gear and if you put it in second gear the car like locks up and stops dead in it tracks. WTF?! guess i need to buy a new tranny for the h22a?

 

does the engine shut off or is it just hard getting it in and out of 1st and 2nd?

 

Have the girlfriend tell you what she really did to the car....

 

you can't get in into first and I took it out of second before it shut off.

 

Check fluid level yet?

 

Its weird, I get in the car today and I am moving it up the driveway to pull into the garage and it shifts fine. When I come back to the house about an hour later and start up the car and back it out of the garage it doesn't want to go into 1st gear, so I switch it to 3rd and then it goes into first with no problem.

 

check ur clutch make sure its not work, the tranny oil, and linkage, sometimes bleed the clutch maby the slave cylinder is leaking
