Default JDM p73 or USDM p73 (searched)

Here's the issue: I finally have my car registered at my address in UT, therefore making my car smog exempt. Purchased my car 4 years ago, ecu came in the car, blah blah blah. . . trying it figure out if it is the jdm or the usdm. Searched google, yahoo, here, and can't really find an answer.
The reason why: I want to take off my cat and put a test-pipe and I don't want my CEL on due to the o2 sensor. Any help would be great.

CLIFFS: Ways to tell difference between JDM p73 and USDM, cats clogged want to remove, don't want to throw a CEL.

Numbers on ECU: 37820-p73-003

JDM ECUs are shorter, more square

I'm not 100% sure if the JDM P73 is in fact shorter though. I actually used to run one and damn it I cannot remember if it was actually small like the P30 ECU!!! you could very easily be right.

Anyways easy way to find out:

Unplug the secondary o2 sensor - if you throw a CEL congrats you've got a USDM ECU. If you get no code it's a JDM P73, and thus doesn't even look for the secondary o2 sensor even though it has OBD2-type plugs on it.

I think in the P73s it's not the case like the P30s. Regarding the other reply to unplug the 2ndary o2, will if I have to, hopefully someone will know.

Yeah, I guess the squareness determination doesn't work for the P73. I was checking on eBay for pics of JDM P73s.

However, this seller claims the following is a P73

I think I figured it out!
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by eg6ajk &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">

from the patterns we can learn the following:
first letter = country of orgin
J = Japan
C= Canada
A=USA
G=Europe
second digit, if 5, 7, 9 then ecu is auto usually
third digit denotes the version/variation</TD></TR></TABLE>

Now my question is this: Europe ITRs would not have had the secondary o2, would they?

I'm almost 100% positive that the EUDM P73 does not have the secondary o2 sensor. I'm just looking for reassurance. I'm just hoping that, like the JDM P73 ecu, that the EUDM one runs the OBD1 program.

Most likely it doesn't. Europe was still getting hondas with no cats untill the early 90s, ie: d16a7,8, etc.. (what we got as d16a1) Their smog laws are lazy
