If you are intent on doing a bolt in style cage, the only method I would recommend would be the following:

For both the "A" and "B" pillars you need four sets of 1/4" plate about five inches square. First , make your cage, you can choose either a 4 point at a minimum or a 6 point. At each attachment points to the floor you take 2 plates, drill a hole the size of your tubing in one, and drill 4 holes for the needed bolts in both. Use grade 8 hardware, nuts, bolts, washers. The object of the plates is when you have completed the cage, directly below where the down pipes hit the floor pan you will drill a hole in the floor. First place the plate with the hole under the cage and mark where the holes are needed then drill them, the cage will then slip thru the hole and from beneath the car, you take the another plate (no hole in the center) and directly weld it to the cage downpipe. When all four corners below the car are sercurely welded are done, you raise the cage up to the bottom of the floor and using the four bolts sandwich the floor pan with the inside plate, thru the pan to the bottom plate. That is safe.

If you attempt to bolt the cage to the floor pan without sandwiching the pan with plate material on both sides, on impact, it WILL rip out.

HTH

Cheers,

Donnie
