where abouts is this and how can i check it? When i had the vtec controller hooked up i use to get alot of codes thrown at me, after my car got stolen today i realized im just gonna get a chipped ecu.. so i hooked up the ecu how it should be (hopefully ) and im still getting a Code 7 which is throttle position sensor. me being not 100% fimiliar with cars has no clu where the hell this is at, if anyone can help i would be greatly thankful .

 

What year, make, and model is your car? That will help us help you a lot more bro.

More than likely it will be a sensor with a three wire plug located on the back of your throttle body facing the firewall. the colors of the wires depends on year/make/model of the engine. The sensor will not be screwed in or bolted in like other sensors - it is held in with headless screws so that honda can lie to you and tell you that you must replace the entire throttle body rather than just replace the sensor, but there's a way around that bullshit.

Simply take a dremmel and cut a small flat notch into the little rivets that hold the TPS onto the throttle body so that you can simply unscrew them with a flathead screwdriver. do the same for whatever used throttle body you can purchase at your local junkyard and then screw it back onto your current throttle body with regular phillips' screws with the same thread pitch so that if you ever need to change it again it will be easier.

The only drawback is that sometimes you can get the TPS out of adjustment, and unless you have a volt meter it'll be hard to measure the exact voltage to get it 100% perfectly adjusted. This is a pretty rare thing to have to readjust the TPS though.

Verify with me what year and make the cdar/engine are though in case there's some specifics I've missed.

Well then my TPS info should be correct.

 

you'll need a screwdriver that isn't very long though, I replace mine and had to find a screwdriver that was short enough to fit. Or get a socket set and an screwdriver bit adapter and tackle it that way.

 

You should use a multimeter. Dont try guessing.
