Some DXs had power steering (w/auto tranny)...the DX engine is probably a tad heavier than the the CX engine. The weight differences shouldn't be that big...I'll dig up the '94 and '95 Civic brochures I have...

DX has the following that CX does not:
Side moldings
Rear washer/wiper and delay front wiper
More tar under the carpet
102hp motor rahter than 70hp in the CX

Bigger gas tank - 11.8 rather than 10.0 in the CX
If it's 1992, the CX has VINYL seats and the DX has cloth
DX had cargo cover std.
DX has adjustable steering column
1992 CX/VX is rated at 2094lbs.
1992 DX is rated at 2178lbs.

Oh, and here's the link to the crazy-*** 1992 hatchback weight topic:

Tells you the weight differences and WHY as well.
If you plan on keeping the stock motor for a while, then the CX will suck ****. The DX is actually safe to pass cars with, but it weighs a *tad* more than the CX/VX does.
Good luck.

Thanks! The CX seems ideal but I plan to drive it stock for awhile...I imagine this will be fun. At least my old '90 CRX DX did fine on the freeway.
