i had just recently got some work done on my head, when i put the head back on the car surges now, but dose not throw a code on the ecu. What can this problem be ??? has anyone had this happen to them before ? what can i do to solve this problem...?
try the fuel filter
adjustin the tps (not sure if u can on the b16)
umm...........................im not to sure without a code. maybe bad tb gasket or intake mani gasket but i think they just make it idol high.

i would try and clean the iacv. Ive heard that makes a car surge. Also try and make sure all the vacume lines are in the right spot and make sure no hoses are cracked. PCV valve might be it as well. Not really sure.
right underneath the TB there's a tube-like sensor. It's got three coolant lines running to it. Disconnect that. pull the sensor off. open the top. Should be 3 8mm screws or something. Look down inside of it. you'll see a white cap. Twist it down until it won't twist down anymore.. Close top. Return to place on tb. Should solve problem. I had my car surge for a whole year before i did it.
Needless to say hearing you motor rev to 2.5k then back ot idle all day is annoying as f-u-c-k-.

yo i tried what you said to do, i dident work for me, it made the car idle a little funny but the surge began at low rpm's.
so messing with the IAVC didn't fix it uhn? Check grounds, check vaccuum lines. Make sure no lines are bent or have holes. Make sure your 2 o2 sensors are in the right pins on the ecu.... hmmm... Mess with the idle screw. Try all the little "fixits" for a funky idle. Those are the biggest ones. I thought for sure the iavc would have done the trick. Check your map sensor/emissions box and make sure the right lines go to the right sources on the IM and the block. Does the surging go away after letting the coolant get temp? Better or worse after heavy driving?

no the car will surge when the temp is warm, under all driving conditions. its so silly, all i did was remove the head then re-install it, i dont know what else it could be?
