transmission gone bad????????????
Hey i have a 99 integra ls with about 130k on it. I think that the transmission is going out, because whenb i shift into 2nd most of the time it will grind and seem not to catch into gear. Not only that but every gear that i shift into it seems really rought compared to other cars i have driven. I dont believe that it should be so hard to shift the stick into other gears when your just at a stand still should it????
anyone have any suggestions, and if i need a new one how much am i looking at and were should i look to get one????
thanks

The tranny is not going out, the input shaft bearing, and rear countershaft bearing are going bad, its a common problem, and its about a 60 dollar in parts fix, and and anyone with half a brain can do it, B series gearboxes are spendy anyways, you break it you fix it :D, its not that hard, also, if you do pull the box out, make sure the synchros are okay, that grinding will wear the hell out of them, and if you notice and other bearings "walking" out of thier holes, when you replace them, stake them in there so they dont walk out, but not to suck and extent that you cant get them out again.
