Default help with nitrous on d16a6

i have an 88crx si with an intake and cat back 2.5in exhaust for performance mods and just recently purchased a nos wet kit. but im kind of skeptical about what size of a shot i should use. the motor is in good shape with around 100k for miles. never boosted or anything like that. any feedback would be greatly appreciated

Do a compression test. If all looks good, put in some good NGK plugs and replace your fuel filter. (Not really needed but WTF...)

Then retard you're timing one degree and run the 50 shot.

That a lil overkill but you'll be safe!

i would make sure the engine is fine and the compression is good then i would order a header( just to free it up a bit plus there cheap) then id spray a 50 shot and 75 at the track ( retard your timeing a bit more ) also since were on the subject anyont have any track times of a a6 stock motor on nitrous?? im taken this same route

I thnk he meant the precautionary steps are a little overkill. Personally, I would rather be cautious than throw a rod. You can go to your local pepboys and get a compression tester. They're about $20 and handy to have around. I'm putting out around 140 psi with my d16. You need a minimum of 128 psi in all cylinders, but it should be around 156 psi. Also, make sure that variation between cylinders is no more than 28 psi. If all that checks out, you have a healthy engine(combustion chamber, at least.) Take the above steps, and run your 50 shot.
Good luck,
Cory

well....lil advice retard your timing 2 degrees and get one step colder spark plugs when your spraying and you will be safe until you lean out but if you get a thing that they call a mushroom you will be fine on the fuel side....also make sure you dont have a chip that in any way will advance timing or you be in for trouble...wish you luck and for times it all depends I was hitting 14.5 on nitrous...but thats the cheap way of winning ;-)

wet shot gets fuel direct from the fuel line so injector cap. isn't a factor.

i'm not completely sure, but i think the compression is supposed to be 175 psi in each chamber, i think that's what i saw on Alldata, and as for the times, i have a d16 a6 crx with exhaust and cold air intake that runs 10.6 in the 1/8th mile, (wish i had a quarter mile around here) it's slow, but it's a work in progress, what isn't
