Default Pioneer amp problem

Hey whats going on yall, sorry im more of a motor head then a sound/security guy so sorry if this is a noob question. I have a Pioneer 5100T 760W amp with a bridged connection to a 12" alpint type-E sub. I was having a problem w/ the fuse on the main power line breaking all the time, from the battery to the amp, so I went from a 30A fuse to a 40A fuse. Everything seemed to be ok for a few days but next thing you know my sub wouldnt put out anything unless the head unit was on low volume level like 15DB's. Now I checked the amp this morning and went from a bridged connection to a single channel connection to the one 12" sub and it works fine at whatever decible the headunit is turned up too, minus the lack of sound. The other channel dosent seem to work anymore, and I guess my question is...what can I do to fix this problem. Is the channel on the amp done for or is there something I can do to fix this problem.

Thanks for everything in advance, and sorry for the novel

First from the begining you should of had a 60 amp fuse installed already, no biggie. Now I am taken it as a typo that you don't get volume on your sub till you turn it up to 15. First I would check the rca's to make sure one is not damage. Reverse the left to right and test the channel that was bad. If it plays you have a bad set of rca's. If not you have a blown channel. Also is that sub you are running a single voice coil or a dual voice coil. Also what ohm is it. That amp you have is real diffcult to blow or less it was running below 2 ohm bridge. I abused them everyday. If you are strapped on cash and one channel is blown. Just play it on one channel till it goes out. But the output is going to be less then what it was bridge.

wow great reply, i appreciate the info, but unfortunatlly its the other way around on the volume thing, its fine under volume15 but once you go above that the sub cuts out. I know its not the rca's because when I connect the sub to just the one channel it plays fine, just a lack of output like you said. As for the sub itself It is an Alpine SWE-1242 (4-ohm). I beleive it is a dual-voice coil, but other than that you would have to look up the info on their website.

Any and all other info is open w/ arms spread wide. I think I might just go buy a new amp and get the larger fuses like it was recomended.
