Did I blow my amp?....today I turned on my car and connected my Ipod and noticed that I could hear any music, I turnedup the volume on high and I could barely hear anything coming out of my speakers
I have a Jensen amp and the name "JENSEN" lightsup on the amp when I turnon the car but now its not, but the power light on the amp is on..I checked the fuse on the amp and in the fuse connected in the engine bay and their both fine....whats the problem????
My Setup:
Jensen 400 watt 4 Channel Amp
Kenwood KDC-MP628 Headunit
Alpine 160 Watt Front Speakers
Infinity 180 Watt Rear Speakers

It's hard to say, it can be any number of things, from a blown amp or HU preamp outputs to just a defective fuse, [not blown "broken"].
Because there is something coming from the speakers makes it even harder to know, [as more things can be wrong].
Have you tried other sources, [radio or CD] instead of the iPod?

hm.. so the cd player is at the same volume. I was going to suggest making sure the ipod was at 50-80 percent volume so theres no distortion or anything, but i have no idea why the cd player would be at a low volume.. is the unit a high powered one or does it run off the stock wires? Maybe try a new ground?

my ipod is always at 100% volume because my headunit controls the volume doing to the speakers and if use 50% volume on my HU I wont hear anything except a lil bit of base from my speakers....if I set the volume at 80% den I hear the music better and the base will hit harder...my wiring aint stock, its rockford fosgate wires
could static electricity have caused this? cause my car is a del sol and since its a 2-seater the amp is mounted behind the passenger seat, the nite before it happened I had taken out my seat (dont ask why) and it might have hit the amp or wires a few times but very lightly
I just regrounded my ground wire somewhere else (my seat rail) hoping that might work but it didnt =/
those anyone hav any ideas on fixing the problem or any testing methods they know that might tell me whats wrong?
HELP!

Well you have already done the first thing I would suggest, [check the ground], I will assume that you are using the amp to run the speakers, and not the HU. if so, then I would pull the HU and wire any speaker to one of the speaker outputs on the HU to see if the problem is in the HU, but before you do anything else, check the position of your fader control on the HU.
