Do some research concerning compression ratio & skunk2 stage 2 cams.

I don't think your itr pistons are going to do the trick.
I would go for something like jdm p30s or ctrs with those cams.

wouldnt use skunk2 cams or there valve train. Look at rocket motor sports or Dpr for as far as cams valve train goes. for the cams buddy club, rocket or itr cams if you want to save a lil money. Pistons for p30's or a custom set-up. On the timing built look at at greedy timing belt. Also look into a good header and exhaust like DTM or hytech....

this is my ls-vtec w/ pro1's/ 12.1 comp.

thin line untuned:

thick line tuned:

this also will show for those running just basemaps or street tuned motors what can be achived with a few hours on the dyno.

itr pistons are a higher compression than the p30's plus you guys gotta realize this is on a gsr head if i was to use ctrpistons i wopuld be in the 13.2:1 compression ratio

Incorrect buddy

usdm or jdm itr pistons yield less c/r then jdm p30s

(atleast if I remember correctly)

the above statement is true. you would be walking on egg shells with much compression on pump gas.

check again with the c-speed, with a b18a/b block, b18c1 head and jdm p30's you get higher CR than with either of the itr pistons, with the zealautowerks the jdm itr's have .1 more cr than the jdm p30's, but all of them are in the 12.5 range, those online calculators are not 100% accurate, the only way to get the accurate # is to get your engine builder to figure it out.

people in the past haave experienced bad things with them, i run them on my motor and its fine, 15k and still running.

there were a few issues of cam breaking and retainers snapping, but then again just about every company has experienced them.

mtber is correct concerning the compression, i had mine dynoed and make 182whp, with more compression, my setup would have yielded better peak power.

Thank you, I have them in my car and it is still running strong after 22k. Thats with the stage 2 cams, valves, springs, and retainers.

Using Dpr valve train and skunk2 stage 2 cams i snapped two skunk2 stage 2 cams. It also caused me to drop a valve. So after that i was done. I am now going to rocket motorsports or bubby club. Dont get me wrong skunk2 makes parts that make power but I will have to look more into there product before i go back

this thread is rediculous.

JDM ITR pistons (p73-00) DO give more compression then p30's. "but c-speed says..." **** c-speed. it doesnt account for compression height. sure, p30's have a little more dome then the p73-00's BUT the ITR's have more compression height, which *gasp* raises compression! use http://www.zealautowerks.com for all your compression calculating needs.

theres nothing wrong with skunk2 stage 2 cams. i made 215/145 with them and jdm itr pistons in a gsr block.

other then that, your setup looks good. just make sure its built and tuned properly and you should make good numbers.

This is news to me! I thaught only the CTR's had a deviating compression height. Would you happen to have any solid numbers as to the ITR's compression height in regard to, lets say... P30's and PCT's?

p30 - 30.00mm
p73 - 30.23mm
pct - 30.73mm

If you are using arp rod bolts in your ls rods make sure you get them resized..
and a oil pump out of a vtec motor(itr or gsr they are the same)

looks good
good luck
