ok so...we did my buddies swap into his eg hatch its a gsr motor with p72obd1 ecu....my question is why isnt redlining all the way....it cuts out at lil over 7 grand...i been told it could be the KNOCK SENSOR or the BUTTERFLY VALVE...what do yu guys think.....?

What do you mean by "cuts-out"? Any check engine lights? Any other symptoms?

i would think the fuel pump should be able to provide..., is the ecu chipped or anything that it has fuel cut at 7k?

well check what code the computer is throwing. Something is wrong and its telling you, just check it and maybe it will answer your problem instead of having random people guess at it over the interweb and the 100' of possiblities it could be...

Couldnt have said it better myself. On Board Diagnostics, meaning you can diagnose your car just by asking it what is wrong... Why do people never use it????

well yea i was planning of pulling the code on friday when i was off....i was just trying to get some answers on wat could be going on.....!!!!!

well i pulled the code.....its the map sensor.....the platic on the map sensor is broken will this case it to throw the engine light........if so does ne one have on laying around.....?

mine was also cracked(skunk2 proseries manifold install cracked it) but it still worked fine, but id replace it in your case since your actually throwing a code for it.

price range for a new one........its not the sensor thats broken its the clip that clips of the sensor thats broken ill post some pics up 2mmorrow
