Default no one has a real answer to this swap

i want to build up my '94 civic lx 5speed......, first of all is that a bad idea? everyone says to get an ex model to build up.
but if i'm right, i'd like to do a swap to replace the weak stock motor.
i'm looking at a vtec engine or a type r engine, but first i need to know if this swap is possible on an lx civic (1994). and if there both "swappable" which engine would "you" swap in???

You can pretty much put any motor in there that you want if you have enough $. There are mount kits that make a B,H,K series swap quite easy. It depends on your budget and what you really want to do. As for myself since I liked drag racing I was going for straight line power (B20 Turbo) . If I was going to be doing circut racing or auto-x I would of picked a different setup. Someday I would like to throw a F series motor into a EF/EG and do some drag and auto-x. Search around and see what people are running.

Good luck!
