What engine would you recommend for a EG?

What engine would you recommend for a EG?
I have a 94 Honda Civic Hatch and I'm thinking about doing a engine swamp. What engine would you recommend me getting for it or should I just get a stock engine instead of a B Series/H Series?

A b swap is a simple swap and makes a very fun hatch to drive. I have a gsr swap in my hatch with ITR 4.7 transmission. It is a go cart on steroids!
A h is more torque and more power but requires a little more work to swap while a h2b swap would allow a stock b series linkage therefore less fab. H2b would be my personal choice when it comes to a h/f swap.
K swap would be a awesome daily driver if you have the money for the swap. Great way to go if you want to stay NA and have the most power out of a stock motor and keep some honda reliability.
All info is covered. The best swap really comes down to personal preference and what you can afford. Check out some build threads to get an idea of what's involved.

Re: What engine would you recommend for a EG?
Anything is possible - if you can think it, its possible - highly improbable, yes, impossible NO
13B is a shitty motor anyway - if you were going that route I would say 20B or twin 13A's with custom shaft and a big single turbo
For the OP
Set a budget and go from there - if its a daily all of the Honda motors are great and will last if taken care of - obviously the larger Honda motors will make more power close to stock so its more a matter of how much power you want and how much money you have.
The J swap wasn't mentioned but is a great swap as well - huge torque for daily driving fun
At this stage in the game I wouldn't personally run a B series - for NA stuff I prefer the larger motors - 2.4-2.7L setups
For a bolt-on turbo setup you could go with a C1 and a good tune 400ish whp - but again, budget, your own maintenance skills and your current location will effect what you do more than anything.
Most of us older guys have had cars stolen from us so I hope you have a garage or live in a place where Hondas don't get molested too much.
All of the swaps will be faster and more fun - hell even a JDM B16 swap can be fun - you have much better options these days so I think H2B makes the most sense - F20B for stock block turbo setup and an H23a for an NA build IMO - most cost effective options/bang for your buck

Re: What engine would you recommend for a EG?
Thanks guys for all your guys feedback. I was out of town and couldn't check it until now, sorry. If I happen to get a B series or a H Series can you also hook up the stock AC or do you have to do other adjustments to get it to work?

the B series is the most painless swap you can do, it will drop right into the car using your stock motor mounts. The B18c1 is the GSR motor and will give you the most bang for the buck. You have to do some wiring modifications on the wiring harness but using the AC and power steering is absolutely not a problem, you just need to get the AC compressor bracket from a Del Sol with the B16 motor in it. I have been running a B18c1 in my 97 Civic EX as my daily driver for 7 years now without a single problem (the guy who helped me with my install is one of the best Honda tuners in the SLC area my swap looks 100% factory). It is a great swap, honda should have put this motor in the civic in the first place.

Since my car didn't come with power steering if I install a B18 will it come with power steering or will it still remain without it? I think I am going to go with a B18 if it isn't too hard to install AC with it.

P.s. I JB Welded my Z6 manifold back together after porting lol. Doing fine after a few years though I should eventually get a Y8 or Skunk 2.
The hell? this wasn't the thread I was on at all, stupid laptop.
