Default Anyone here build a single cam F22??

I know a lot of peeps build D-series motors and I salute them...but is anyone here into the single cam F's? I have an F22A6 in my '93 Accord and I'm building a "stage 2" bolt on motor...hopefully I'll get into the 14s...

-H23 intake plenum (works with the IABs and shorter runners of my manifold for more top end)
-Delta 272 degree cam
-I/E (stock header is OK)
-Eventual tune, it runs rich w/a straight exhaust

What do you guys think?

I think Bisimoto just went 9s. So I would say he might be into them alittle.

Why cant we talk about F series performance here?

A personal phone call or email doesnt help everyone else.

Sure, why not? I am here to help...and will be more than happy to provide answers in this forum.

The H22 manifold is a stride in the right direction. Modification/removal of the mid-stream butterflies are a plus. I have a Bisimoto camshaft that gives sick midrange, without a crazy/lopey idle. It would be wise to run an aftermarket header. A cold air system is another plus.

You should also consider headwork: the head hold the highest potential for power in any n/a engine. Since the F22 engines have so much lower static compression to begin with, aftermarket pistons, like Arias, are a sure means of improving performance, hence allowing you to even exceed your goals. I can help you with piston designs as well.

In 2000, I had a 95 Accord DX. I put 11:1 pistons in the F22B2 block, put a stock vtec head on it with a H22 tranny and it ran in the 14.7 range with decent traction of course. It's not that fast, but obviously the potential was there, but I ended up getting rid of the car, so I never got to really do anything to the head.

Since you have an Accord chassis I highly recommend a H22 tranny though

Bisi has some great options for you, I would definately look into some of the kick *** things he offers

Ahhh nice the man himself!!! Yea over at cb7tuner.com some dudes figured out you could use the A6 runners with the H22/H23 plenum which has like twice the volume.

As far as headers the only one I would really consider is the Kamikaze 4 to 1 as it's the only one with a decent sized collector. But honestly do you think I could just get away with the stock primaries and a decent collector? The only thing that sucks is on the A6's the manifold is cast...but there are individual runners.

And the low compression is such a gift as the engine makes decent power stock...with 11:1 pistons low end won't be as bad with a crazier cam. How much does your cam go for?

Like the dude before did my goal is to get into the 14s...I dunno about the H22 tranny though, but with 3rd gear ending at about 88MPH unless I let the engine go to 7K it's gonna be a problem. There's definitely a lot of potential in it though as you've shown and as a lot of people over here and at cb7tuner.com have found out. I'm just trying to go about it without spending more than an H22 longblock... I'm already about $500 in with my intake manifold and straight exhaust.

**UPDATE** I should be getting a Delta 272 cam within the next 2 weeks and an XTD clutch in the coming month or so. I should get up to the track/dyno within the next 2 months.
