i got a gsr motor and i need a new tranny...whats better b16 tranny or gsr tranny?
I have a b16a(2) and the gears are SOOOO close together I am on rev limiter so fast. I'm not sure if that would be compounded by the increased power and torque of the C1 motor. It might give you more control on a road corse when shifting into and out of a turn. I am building a new block (B18c1 bored and sleeved to 2.0) and I'm pretty sure I'm going to go with a gsr tranny for that set up + it is going to be boosted.
B16= short gears----
GSR= short 1st and 2nd, the other 3 are fair
I guess it all depends on what type of driving you will be doing.

If the car will most likely see the highway most of the time go with gsr, if its more for track use go for b16. On the highway the b16 trannys rev so high just cruising. advantage is that u dont really need to downshift.

Does anybody use this?

1st gear is the same, 2nd is slightly longer, and 3-5th are progressively longer than a B16 tranny

If you want, get a JDM 98 ITR tranny. It has B16 1-3 gears and GSR 4-5 gears. You'll accelerate fast, and be able to cruise. Then again, you have a 4.7 FD, you can still punch it.
