Default Tranny question

Ok i blew my tranny a couple of weeks ago just got another today my question is how much would it cost to have a shop put it in and what weight of gear oil should i use it is a 1994 Honda Civic Ex with a B16a swap Thanks in advance for any help

i assume its a manual? just use 10-30 oil in the tranny or go royal purple...thats even better

As always I recommend Honda MTF. You can get it at the dealership. As far as paying someone to put it in?
Cost could be anywhere from 150.00 to 500.00 depending on where you go.

You could spend the 75.00 for a helm's and try it yourself. If you feel comfortable.

if you have the neccessary tools, then get a manual and do it yourself. but i always use honda MTF cant go wrong with it

^^^^^Definately.

I know you will need the Helms for the actual transmission change and maybe the helms for putting the fluid on but, i did a writeup a while ago on how to change/fill the transmision fluid:

Yeah that is a good write-up. Also I know some people use the vss to add, I put a different engine in my accord wagon and my pump broke (sat for a while unused) and my vss was buried under alot of stuff.

So I found out that by removing the vent cap I had a piece of hose that fit inside and I added my tranny fluid this way. Except when I fill mine, right after it starts coming out fill hole I try to put the plug back in while it is still leaking out a little. Kinda messy but I know there is not alot of extra fluid in there.
