92 civic 5 speed what do i use for transmission fluid. owners manual says regular oil and hayes say manual transmission lubricant. which one? thnaks guys and gals!!!!

You can use regular motor oil (non-synthetic), but most will recommend Honda brand manual tranny fluid.

I've used both regular 10w30 and honda MTF and I recommend the Honda MTF by far... much smoother shifting and I can actually get my car into 1st while rolling now vs. with the 10w30 I had to practically come to a stop.
Just go to the dealership and ask for the right amount of MTF for your vehicle. If they're nice like mine, they'll even show you where the drain and filler holes are.
