okay...the car has been setting for a while now..maybe almost for a month now..i then go and start it..it gives me a cel 22..which is VTEC pressure valve..this then throws the car into limp mode...cannot rev pass 5000 rpm..try resetting ecu..nothing..try adding more oil..nothing..have yet to clean the vtec soleniod..car is a 96 civic hatch with b16 boosted..street tunned on crome pro..

 

idle oil pressure is roughly around 40-45psi..when cold..when warm idles oil pressure is around 20is-30 pis

just took the car out..revv'ed to 7000rpm..no vtec..

 

clean the solenoid and change the oil.

 

has fresh 10w40 in it..i'll be cleaning it once the car cools down..

 

cleaned it....nothing...switched solinoids..nothing...help guys!!

 

22 is vtec pressure switch, make sure it is all pluged it, the ROM has vtec right? you just stared it oneday and no vtec? probly dirty

 

oh and limp mode is more like 3k

correct....let the car sat for good month..went to start it..boom..cel 22 ..cleaned the solinoid...all pluged in..rom has vtec....

well its not in limp mode no more..first it wouldnt let me rev past 5k at all..its like a rev limit there..i then reset the ecu and it would rev past 5 k all the way to 8..

 

are you sure vtec was woeking before the car sat? what ecu is in the car? check for voltage at the selenoid.

positive the vtec was wokring before i let the car sat..ecu is p28 with crome pro..have yet to check voltage at teh solenoid
