in your opinion what is the best coaxial 6 1/2
I have a delsol and the 4 coaxials are shot. I want to replace them with something that can be played loud enough to hear it with the top off. I know they are not for bass but that is a concern or a requirement that they can cover (some of) the low end. I will be adding a 8' sub in the front pass footwell. What are your suggestions Thanks for the help in advance.

I have the Kenwood Excelon KFC-xr600 and they sound great. They are very light weight also (if that is something you are concerned about) and have great depth clearence. They are designed a lot differently than regular coaxials though. The tweeter portion is suspended off of the woofer cone so there is no hole through the woofer. This provides for much better base response. Also if you add an amp, the tweeter and woofer in the coaxial can each be amped separately (but dont have to be) in this respect they behave more like components but come together as one speaker. I am happy with mine. Just my 2 cents
ITR 815,
do you have a price range for the kenwoods. I have 2 amps both 4 channel.
a 40x4 sony (******* big amp) and a tiny A/D/S thats like 20x4 I will be using these in my set-up....thank you both for coming up with some good suggestions.

I would seriously look into a/d/s/ 2 or 3 series co-ax. I have heard the 336is co-ax and they are outstanding. More like a set of components packaged as co-ax's
Nice! Thanks I bought some sony's for the g/f's car a while back and they suck. they were the biggest waste of $$ I just dont want to make the same mistake again. Is there such a thing as 8'coaxial and who makes them?

I wouldn't really consider an 8" co-ax a great option. It's pretty easy to get away wiht in home audio, but in car audio...a bit more difficult. It's tougher for an 8" to play high enough to blend well with the bottom end of tweeters that are used in car audio. If you can fit a large driver in your door, I would highly recommend that you look at the Image Dynamics Chameleon Separates. They can be mounted as co-ax, and have some of the best midbass around. They are also available in 2 ohm, allowing your amp to get them more power.

I have bought from them before and they are good to do business with. I really like my KFC-XR600 which is the older model of that same speaker. Good luck to you in your search.
Depending on price range, Oz Audio, excellent low end and incredible highs, not really sure on price. They have a pretty sweet setup for the coax too. If budget is not a problem then Focal or the Diamond.
id spring for a set of components, a friend picked up a pair of i think its overdrive, they are sweet, the highs are amazing and they have great lows, only $199
