Default Searched~ Excess oil on plugs!

K heres the deal..i have a dohc zc and since i bought it i had a lil bit of oil on 2 of the spark plugs..i would only burn oil if i let it sit at idle then rev it...never any smoke otherwise even at high rpms..now..i just recently did a turbo install and i didnt drive more than 10 miles before i started blowing massive blue smoke..i know its oil so i naturaly began seeking the problem..when i took out the sparkplugs instead of only 2 covered now all 4 were covered..now even when the car is at idle it pushed mass blue smoke and the more i rev the more smoke comes out..its pretty bad..so my question is..valve seals/guides or possiably piston rings>? I dont seem to feel any powerloss so im leaning towards seals..anyone have any expeirence with this?

I don't think blown turbo seals would put oil into the cylinders...but check you charge piping for oil...how much boost are you running? Are you running a catch can? If no you are getting mad blow-by, do you have a breather filter on the valve cover is it covered in oil? Vlave guides will smoke at idle and start up but should go away but i don't think they would leak enough oil to cover the plugs...my money is on the rings/blow-by

i'll check that..but you think i blew all 4 piston rings at the same time? not impossiable but not likely..and like i said i dont feel any powerloss..i heard blow pistion rings are very noticable powerloss..and thats just with 1-2..no way id not notice anything on all 4 being shot..know what i mean>?

Not blown/broken ringlands but under boost you will blow oil past them...older motors or non-healthy motors will most likely have it happen when boosting them...I don't all 4 may be unlikely but they may have been leaking before too since you said you had 2 before the boost

Hmm well did you prme the turbo...like put oil in it or let the motor pump oil into it before you started the car?? You honestly could have killed the seals if you did a dry start up

ok, since the problem was there before the turbo, let's take the turbo out of the equation

replace your gromets on the valve cover. This has happened to be twice before, I usually just change the valve cover gasket too.

i checked the spark plug holes and no oil was dripping down from seals in valve cover..so i know its not coming from that route

iv never put a turbo on a car but iv owned a turbo talon(worst car ever) but common sense tells me that if your car smokes a little.. your going to get blow by like crazy if you turbo an engine. and oil will find its way past anything too. but that could just be my talon i dont know. sorry if i sound like an assi just dont understand why you would turbo an engine if its smoking already. but if it didnt cost much to do and its for fun then ya thats cool.

You are right

Are you running any pcv valve ? You might have excessive pressure in the crank case or head which is causing your seals to basically blow out. Install a catch can if you can.

Well...i bought valve seals yesterday from acura..i will be installing them soon..im also considering installing a catch can as advised..if this does not solve the problem..i may just pull the engine..i will post with more info later..

Easy DIY catch can....cost about $15

Go to Walmart...get a air tools in-line filer...get barb fittings for the ends and some vac hose....Install one side to a Pre-turbo vac source, you can put a fitting in your air filer...run the other side to the PCV valve....

You could also run an exhaust evap kit which would accutally work better since pre-turbo vac isn't very strong usually and you need to be running a filter to do so

Do a compression test.

Then do a leakdown test.
