mpfi harness plugs
wondering if si distributor is needed for conversion or i can use the one i have and cut the plugs and splice, does it matter if the distributor is for a std or auto, what about the intake manifold d16y8 is for a std car will it work on a auto car ihave a 90 civic dx auto.i have some one custom making a harness for an auto, but unsure about the distributor plugs and the intake manifold.has anyone done this conversion that can give me some tips would be greatly apreaciated.thanks
You can't use your distributor, you have to have one from either a CRX HF/Si or Civic Si. They have additional sensors to time the fuel injection right.
Distributor won't matter whether you are Auto or Manual.
The best thing to do is depin the wires on your engine harness from the distributor plug, then repin them in the MPFI plug, so you can plug it right into the distributor and only have to run the 2 extra wires to the ECU.

the plugs on the distributor are obd0 but the sensors on the intake manifold are obd2 wich is the y8. the harness is being made for mpfi conversion 88-91, on a automatic car.but not sure if the sensor plugs on the harness would work on the y8.
