Warning for Ignitor failure?
When my ignitor was going bad previously, my tach would jump around...
Now my car is bogging at cruising speeds at around 3k. Pressing the gas does not respond with acceleration. When I key on & off real fast while cruising, it runs normal for a few miles and then does it again. I got it home (~30 miles and must have keyed on & off atleast 10 times).
When I pull over and stop, restart the car completely, it fixes the bogging temporarily...
Must be something electrical right? Because restarting fixes it temporarily.
By the way, I am receving no CELs.
Also, I swapped out an injector the day before this started happening because it was leaking... I just don't see how this is related to my problem, probably just coincidence. Injectors are just solenoids right? They either work or they don't?
- Fuel Filter has only about 35k on it, ran on only 93 octane.
- Cap has some miles on it, but the rotor has pretty new.
- plugs have under 150 miles on them.
Someone mentioned a similar problem when their ignitor went bad... I just want a 2nd opinion before I go out spending money.
Thanks in advance!

Thanks to ndogg for remembering what caused similar symptoms in his car from 2003.
Swapped out 2 known good ignitors with no effect.
Problem: BAD O2 sensor!

I didn't have tach jumping problems this time, just bogging.
I've been through the tach jumping around at higher RPMs, and yes a different ignitor fixed the problem. Fortunately, it was still under Distributor King's Warrany (I know it's lifetime now, it wasn't before), so they replaced my whole distributor.
I did swap out an OEM ignitor and it fixed the problem. If you've read other threads though, they recommend replacing the ignitor & coil together... or it just causes premature failure of either of the parts...
