I have a 97 hatch with an obd1 b16, I've been having problems with getting little or no spark at all. I've replaced the coil, and that seemed to help. Then I replaced the igniter and now nothing, I switched it back to the old igniter just to make sure annd that didn't help. I'm so lost. If anyone else had had this problem please help. I'm down to thinking its the ecu itself.
you probably have the wires in the wrong order, make sure all 4 wires are where they are suppose to be, either that or something else went out.
I just thought of this... maybe your main relay. I cant remember off the top of my head if it would cause no spark if its going out.

I made sure the wires were in the correct order twice now. As far as the main relay, I thought of that too because from what i've read about it the main relay controls the power to the ecu as well as the fuel pump and injectors. I'm pretty sure that the distributor wires are all okay.

Take the main relay out and beat the hell out of it. Then put it back in. I have heard this is a temporary fix for it. lol
I'm pretty sure that if you look at the distributor, where the ignitor goes, their is one part that spins on the distributor and another part that almost touches, that gives the ignitor it's pulse. The gap has to be adjusted to as narrow as you can get it, without touching. I had to set mine and I set it to about 10/1000, which is like a 1/3 the thickness of a credit card. If the gap is to wide, the pickup won't get a strong enough signal for the ignitor to work. Hope this helps.
