advantages/disadvanteges of port and polish for eg '93?
IMHO unless you are approaching the limit of performance with your engine the money can be better spent elsewhere. Straight from the factory Hondas have some of the best flowing heads out. There is so little to improve on that it would not be worth the money spent unless of course you have done everything else and want that last little bit.

Yeah well that last little bit means a lot when ur pushing the engine's limit already :-P
but agreed...it's better spent on other upgrades before u port and polish it

its true youre better off spending money elsewhere.
IMO to be getting what youre paying for you'd have to be FI.
if your car is turbo/sc, the gains are linear to your setup.
so you are better off turbo'ing your car. then port and polish will be worth the money.

That depends on so many factors it is ridiculous. And even if we knew all these factors we still wouldn't know. Of course you could dyno it. But THEN dynos are all different and the same dyno is different on different days so you STILL wouldn't be able to find out.
So basically, you will never know. LOL!

well, yeah.. here's my current setup for my eg '93 sedan..
simota fat tube air intake
customized full-exhaust system.. 4-1 headers, 2" piping all the way, apexi supermegaphone muffler..
splitfire high tension wires
groundwire kit
and i had my cylinder head ported and polished..
my friends have been telling me to add a turbo kit but as much as possible, i want to go all-motor for my ride.. any other ideas on what i can do to juice up my ride's performance? if i change to high comp pistons, will that help?

by the way, how will i be able to change my avatar? whenever i click on my profile and try to change my avatar, it always say the avatars are disabled..?!?!
1: I pray to god you're not trying to go all-motor in a SOHC motor.
2: You can't change your avatar until your trial session is over.
3: Piece together a good homemade turbo for $600.

Of course, high compression pistons will probably give you the biggest N/A HP jump, at the cost of reliability.

Why would it cost him reliability?
High compression, 93, & a tune should be reliable.
If you really want to stay NA get a cam & the valvetrain to go with it if it's needed.
ie: ZEX 59100 or 59300 cams won't need it if you're going to the stock redline. If you decide to take it to 9000rpms you'll need a new valvetrain.
You can also get high compression pistons.
---
I'd pickup a ZEX 59300 cam, the supporting valvetrain, maybe some 310cc injectors, find a tuner, & have the motor tuned.
That way you haven't wasted gobs of money on **** you can't use if you go turbo. With that cam you can boost later down the road and not have to pull it out like you would a set of high comp pistons.
