Default RHD...Is it worth it?

Is it worth it getting a RHD for a EG?
I don't think it is. I want to here your opinions.

it depends on the owner and the purpose. this isn't a YES/NO question, it's too subjective. you need to ask yourself if it's worth it.

EDIT: you don't think it is, my bad didn't see that part LOL but still depends on the owner and purpose.

either way if its something you want then do it, if not don't do it.

IMO, NO! whether you have one imported or do a conversion. it is not necassary for driving here in the states, i've heard it's alittle difficult shifting w/your left hand and getting used to the roads, and your only going to draw more unwanted attention to you and your car. if i was to invest that type of money in a car, i would use it for something more meaningful or on a nicer higher tunable car.

I personally dont think so, there arent any real advantages other than bling factor. and besides, once youre car is RHD you're just asking to be jacked. Its sad to say, but its too easy to steal our little econo boxes. I laugh when I see people with RHD cars driving because they cant shift for sh*t. Im sure there are people that can shift so dont cry to me saying how you beat some guy blah blah blah, i dont care, thats beside my point. We are so used to LHD that RHD is just a waste.

i'd love to do it someday, but it's impractical for me at the moment. after i graduate and have a well paying job, i might consider doing it.

I think it's a waste...but then I', not ultra JDM like some folks here.

If it doesn't make it faster/more relaible, I'm not buying it.

If you do a conversion on a car that is already licensed here, how the hell is the dmv going to know?..I called the DMV and the State Troopers here before I did my conversion. They both said it was perfectly legal. If you have doubts.....call and ask.

I drove an ex-postal service subaru wagon that was rhd.

After about 10 minutes of driving, the coolness of the rhd went away and I was glad I could jump back in my LHD civic and drive home.

That basically cured me of ever wanting to import a car(something I've considered for a while).

My answer:
Definately not worth it

Reason:
You gain NOTHING from it - civics aren't head turners, even RHD ones...

Editorial Note:
I like the way pple say a nice paint job or a body kit to make ur car more aesthetically appealing is "rice" but when u try to make it RHD to get pple to look at it...that's nice rice? It's the same thing...ur adding more **** to ur car to make it more aesthetically pleasing that does nothing for it... There's nothing else u can gain from a RHD conversion other than u want to get pple to loook at u, so maybe a it's a security issue (which says a lot about the pple on honda-tech) - but seriously, is it really any different from putting a body kit on it? Think about it - seriously....

You make a really good point. I got a friend who is doing a conversion and I just don't see the point.

Here are a couple of things that I feel make the car safer in the states.

Most head on collisions are left side front to left side front.

Will not have to worry about stepping out in traffic when parking at the curb.

Disadvantage.....Drive thrus when by yourself.

Cant see around cars good to pass on the left.

The 2nd one I will fix. I will install a camera in the front left and hook it to my dvd screen.

That pretty much goes with any mod you do to set yourself apart from any other car. If you build it to go fast even.....Still getting attention.
