only second gear? when shifting normal, hard, both?

sounds like you have a broken shift fork or bad synchro inside that tranny..

2nd gear = expensive to fix

3/4 gear syncro hub/collar is $162.

1/2 is like 250...

Could be shift fork. Could be something else. Make sure tranny fluid is full. That don't work, just double check the slave cylinder's movements and make sure it functions properly.

Then pull the tranny if all else fails.

I'm just now getting this problem. Going into 2nd at 8200 rpm, my tranny has grinded/locked out four times in the past three times at the track. It runs fine without beating the hell out of it... but I'd like to hit up the track some more before I leave for Japan.
