S2000 Life Range???
almost 100K here, perfect compression, leakdown is a go, i beat the jebus out the car everyday.
all maintenace and service are done at my garage.
part replaced so far: front bumper(not my fault), radiator(hairline crack), waterpump(at 90k), tie rod ends(boot cracked), clutch. that's about it
Oh, just did a valve lash adjustment. Check your if it's 100K or earlier, alot of mine is off slightly, i ended up tightening almost every valves.
tranny is good, diff is normal, still on original axles, top have some wear, i am waiting for it to wear a hole so i can justify a new hardtop.

There are a couple people on s2ki over 200k now. I know of two, one stock and one modded (IHE). Both still running strong. The key is maintenance on time!

3 grand, which pretty much another project car.
it's a hardtop or project MR2 for me
but the things about hardtop, you can buy a used one, sell it later on when you are done with the S, unless you do something stupid like flipping it over you can pretty much sell it for the price you paid.
